Proverbs 17:17
Proverbs 17:17
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
As life gets busy, staying connected with friends becomes difficult until we need help. When was the last time you messaged a friend to see how they were doing just because you were thinking of them? When was the last time you offered a friend help even though it was inconvenient for you? We are reminded in this verse of Soloman that a true friend does not just love when it's convenient for him. A true friend loves at all times, even when it’s hard. Jesus demonstrated the greatest of all love when He gave up His own life for us. His love for us is unconditional. As followers of Jesus, we should do the same for our brothers and sisters in Christ. The act of loving at all times does not imply that we should ignore sin or abuse from others. That's not what Jesus did. It is still necessary to hold people accountable for their actions and for the consequences that follow. When you love someone at all times, you show compassion, provide support, and put their needs first - even if they don't do the same for you. Challenge yourself today to show Jesus' love to those around you. Be willing to push yourself beyond what seems comfortable and to really be there for those you care about. When you do that, you will be pleasantly surprised by how good it makes you feel.
Luke 1:7
And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
Proverbs 11:29
He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
Psalms 128:3
Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
Ruth 1:16
And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:.
