1 John 1:1
1 John 1:1
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
According to 1 John, everything began with a connection between Jesus and God the Father. There was a close connection between John and Jesus. He was a personal witness to the earthly ministry of Jesus. It was he who heard Him teach, saw Him both before and after His resurrection and touched Him personally. As the last surviving apostle, John spoke with an authority few others could match. John was lifting up the incarnate Word of God, the Creator of the universe, the Son of God, who has been one with the Father since eternity past. Throughout time and eternity, he exalted Jesus, the incarnate Word, who is of the same essence as God Himself. During his sermon, he proclaimed that the Son of Man was conceived within the womb of a woman and was born under the name of Jesus of Nazareth. John was the one who listened personally to Christ's words of grace and truth. John was the one who had been able to witness the gracious acts of loving kindness performed by the Lord. Through his epistle, John continues to convey to his little children the glorious truth about the eternal and sovereign character of the Word of Life.

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.
Deuteronomy 32:1
