John 2:5
John 2:5
His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
Mary, Jesus' mother, brings Jesus a problem, not a prepackaged solution. In her message, she simply expresses her concerns to Him and encourages others to follow His lead. As we pray, we sometimes forget that it is not our place to give direction to God: we can ask, but most importantly, we should listen. Despite not having all the details, Mary trusts in God's plans. As a mother, she had often pondered the gracious words and godly wisdom she had heard from the only begotten Son of the Father. During this time, she had to become aware of what we all must learn. There is an unbridgeable gap between God and man, which can only be bridged by the Lord Jesus. However, it will be accomplished in God's time and in God's way. Mary fulfilled a calling that we are all called to fulfill. Throughout her life, she has pointed others to the one and only Son of God. Rather than focusing on herself, she directed their attention towards the Lord Jesus Christ. While she diminished in self-importance, she elevated the sinless Son of Man, the eternal Son of God, who is seated at the right hand of God the Father in heaven.
1 Peter 2:21
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Matthew 7:21
Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will.
Psalms 119:80
Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.
Luke 10:27
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
