Joshua 24:15
Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Have you ever been at a crossroads in your life? This would be a time when you have to choose between one path or another. In the Old Testament, Joshua placed a crossroads before the people of Israel. They could either follow the Lord or pursue the gods of other cultures. However, Joshua put his foot down and said, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” As for Joshua and his family, they would serve the Lord of Israel. There is something truly powerful about a family that is united in serving the Lord. Family members, although sometimes irritating, can be some of your strongest supporters and helpers in your spiritual walk with the Lord. Joshua, as the leader of his household, chose for his household to be united in faith in the Lord. Whether it be your blood-related family or your church family, cherish those around you who are your brothers and sisters in Christ fighting alongside you in this spiritual war. Support your family members in Christ and love them, bearing their burdens alongside them. Let us be known by our love for our families and choose to serve the Lord with them.
