Psalms 9:7
Psalms 9:7
But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
A difference between the Lord and his enemies is that the Lord destroys his enemies completely (Psalm 9:3–6) while God lives forever on His throne. In David's writings, he acknowledges that God is, has been, and always will be the supreme authority over the universe. It is important to note that while Jesus was ministering on earth, He displayed divinely perfect judgment, which was rooted in perfect knowledge. Similar to David, we rejoice to know that the day will soon come when God will avenge the blood of His people and fight the evil of the wicked. In some cases, however, we are left wondering why God does not work in the manner we expect, or we lose sight of His omnipotent power and never-failing grace. Often, we wonder whether the arm of God is equally quick to defend the fatherless and widows of our day as it was in those dim and distant times of King David. However, our God has remained the same yesterday, today, and forever. His righteousness endures forever; he is unchanging and changeless. It is the Lord Who has established His throne in judgment, and it is His sovereign authority that rules over all. His justice will be administered to the oppressed and to all those who place their trust in Him.
Exodus 20:2
I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Hebrews 1:5
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
Matthew 23:28
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Psalms 100:3
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
