Exodus 1:12
Exodus 1:12
But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.
We all fear affliction. The pain it brings and the inconveniences that people go through when they go through difficult times are not enviable. As believers, however, we must know the truth. There is another side to affliction. It is the side of the sunlight that comes after the dark night. The Bible says that the affliction of the righteous may be many, but the deliverance of God is always sure to come through. Look at the verse above. It gives hope that anyone going through oppression or any form of affliction should know and keep. The children of Israel were in a land of slavery under the Egyptians, who oppressed them hard. But the testimony is that they multiplied and spread abroad, and the Egyptians were in dread of them. As followers of Christ, our afflictions are not commensurate with the glory that will be revealed in us when we go through them successfully. Even if we don’t get the rewards here and now, we will inherit the glory to come. So, while you are going through oppression and whatever form of affliction it may be, look up and be aware of the other side of affliction. Set your mind on the possible near future of glory that is to come. In your affliction, you can break into new levels of grace and even be increased in every good thing by the power of God. Be encouraged!
Luke 6:22
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you.
Revelation 2:10
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried.
John 15:25
But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
Acts 5:41
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
