Jeremiah 17:17
Jeremiah 17:17
Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.
As children of God, we enjoy God’s blessings as tokens of His love from a father to His children. It is a fact that God is generous to all, but there are exclusive blessings based on His mercies that are enjoyed by His own. We have comfort and are relaxed in His love. However, in the course of our life’s journey, we are bound to encounter certain unpleasant situations. These moments of difficulty will be so tough that we may consider giving up. They might be periods of severe persecution, tragedy, sickness, or loss. Hope begins to wane, and the thought that God has forsaken us begins to fill our minds. We're trying to figure out if we've done something wrong that's causing us punishment. But just like Job, our righteousness in God is assured. Our confidence should be in God’s promises that He would never leave nor forsake us. It might be hard to think like this when we are on the brink of defeat and losing it all. When it looks as if our enemy has the upper hand and we seem to be the object of mockery and ridicule, God is our hope and present help in times of trouble. He will save us in the nick of time when we call upon Him.
Romans 8:16
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the Holy Ghost of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Luke 11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
1 Peter 1:18
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
