Proverbs 19:22
Proverbs 19:22
The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
Everyone loves to be associated with persons of impeccable character. Even a man with the worst kind of attitude would prefer to be around someone with a better nature than he is. It seems to be a natural thing for us to desire and admire good things or virtues. The success of any relationship depends on the attitude of the individuals involved. The productivity of an organization is dependent not just on the capabilities of employees but also on their individual character. Whether a marriage will work or not depends on the character of both parties. The virtues we seek out are usually not inherent because they are not a part of the nature of sins. One might boast of being a moralist and justify that one is good; however, the Scriptures say there’s no perfect, just, or good person except God. The sinful nature of man is not capable of producing a godly character. These virtues or character can only be the resultant effects of the Holy Spirit working on a man. As believers, we are the salt of the earth. We are expected to flavor the world around us with the culture of God’s kingdom at work in us. Let the Spirit of God work out these godly virtues in us so that unbelieving people will see our good works and that God will be glorified when people come to Him.
Romans 12:15
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
John 15:12
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Luke 6:31
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Romans 12:9
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
