John 8:36
John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Man was made in the image and likeness of God to be like Him in functionality and act like Him in character. He was the master over every creation of God on the earth until the emergence of sin. Man was reduced to a slave. He was enslaved by sin, limited by the curse, and he lived in toil and hardship. Adherence to the Law could not save man because it was rendered weak by the sinful state of man. Being morally upright and doing good works cannot free man from the power of sin and its consequences. No one had the power to save man except God; He came into the world as the man, Jesus, so that humanity can be eternally free from the claws of sin and its captivating power. Salvation from the oppression of sin can only be affected in the name of Jesus. True liberty can be experienced by knowing Him intimately. Affiliation with a religious sect cannot guarantee true freedom until you encounter the saving power of Jesus. Sin no longer has dominion over those who have faith in Jesus; they cannot be compelled by it. They have been liberated to serve God in spirit and in truth. They are set free from the hardships and struggle as a result of the curse and can enjoy all of God’s blessings. As a result of their faith, they become children of God. This is true freedom.
Romans 8:21
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Galatians 4:7
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
