Psalms 11:4
Psalms 11:4
The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
It was David's conviction that his enemies could not topple him from his earthly throne because God sat on the throne of heaven. It is true that the enemies may have been powerful, but the Lord is all-powerful. Furthermore, nothing is hidden from His all-seeing gaze. Clearly, he could see what the wicked were up to. Their evil acts were believed to be hidden by the Lord, but He saw their wickedness and would punish them for it. Indeed, the Lord resides in His holy temple, and He reigns from His throne in the heavens. He is the sovereign ruler of the kingdom of men, and his eye closely examines the actions and activities of all humanity. He is the source of our strength, for His grace is sufficient for every eventuality in our everyday lives. Those who place their trust in the holy name of the Lord will find the Lord faithful and true to His precepts and promises. The life of David was filled with wars and violence, crimes and corruption, terrors and temptations, rejections and betrayals, just as ours is. Similarly to David, we face the possibility of our nation's and society's godly foundations crumbling into disrepair. Following the example of King David, we can learn how to put our trust in the Lord despite the circumstances of life.
Matthew 23:28
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Hebrews 1:5
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
Psalms 9:7
But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
Psalms 10:1
Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
