Psalms 90:12
Psalms 90:12
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Moses provides an example of sensible prayer in light of God's righteous anger and wrath. He asks God for wisdom to account for our time. It is important to appreciate the moments and days that He has provided us with. We cannot predict what tomorrow will bring, which is why we should dedicate today and every day to the Lord. Living sensibly and with a purpose is essential, but taking things one step at a time is also imperative. Life should be taken one day at a time, and one should not even bother to think about the difficulties of tomorrow. As we reflect upon the brevity of our time on earth, we should recognize that our times are in God's hands, as He has planned every day of our lives in such a way that He will glorify Himself through them. During our short sojourn on earth, we should make the most of every opportunity that we are presented with. As Christians, this world is not our home since Christ has granted us heavenly citizenship and provided us with a glorious inheritance in heaven. However, each day of our lives is an opportunity that God has graciously provided for us to use wisely and diligently for His glory. A life that has focused on honoring God in thought, word, and deed has been a life of victory.
Ephesians 5:16
Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
Luke 1:4
That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.
Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Psalm 37:30
The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
