Romans 5:13
Romans 5:13
(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
This verse illustrates how sin and death are universal and how they have affected all humans since the beginning of time. It emphasizes that sin exists even in the absence of a law, and death ruled humanity even before the law was established. It encourages us to put our trust in Jesus as a solution to the problem of sin and death. Human beings are born with a sinful nature, and death is the fate of every descendant of Adam as a result of this sin. Moses was the first to give humanity God's perfect standard for living through the Mosaic Law. This law provides a benchmark for sin and provides a means of identifying personal sin. It was intended to assist fallen sinners in recognizing and repenting of their sins. As Christians, we are not subject to the Law like Israel, and our sins are not imputed to us. It is important to note that, unlike Israel, the church does not have to offer sacrifices in the Temple or keep certain feast days in order to cover our sins because Christ is our perfect sin offering. In His death on the cross, Christ has dealt with all the sins we have committed, both the sins that are imputed to us and those that are our own.
Hebrews 1:6
And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Proverbs 14:9
Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
Psalms 51:5
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
