Romans 5:14
Romans 5:14
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Before Moses, God did not provide many specific laws for humanity, yet sin existed among people. Humans were born with a sinful nature and engaged in actions such as lying, stealing, murder, and adultery, even though they were not breaking God's written commands. Despite not committing sins in direct violation of God's laws, they still faced the consequences of Adam's sin, including death. Many people consider this act of God to be unjust and unfair. However, there is no way for us to fully comprehend God's wisdom and ways. In His infinite wisdom, God knew that sinful man and his fallen prodigy could not act justly, love mercy, walk humbly, or live in total dependence on Him on their own. Therefore, God decided in His wisdom to create Jesus Christ who would be able to impute His righteousness to all who believe in Him. Adam, the first man, was created from the dust of the earth, whereas the Second Man, Jesus Christ, is from heaven and currently sits at the right hand of the Father in power and glory. Those who believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God will be saved.
1 Corinthians 15:55
Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?
Romans 14:8
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
2 Corinthians 4:14
Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
Romans 6:7
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
