Psalms 96:1
Psalms 96:1
O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.
This verse is a call to worship God with a renewed spirit. It encourages all people to sing a new song to the Lord and to give Him the praise and worship that He deserves. It is important to understand that worship is more than a one-time event, but rather a continuous and ongoing expression of our devotion to God. It also implies that we should always be open to new ways of expressing our worship to God and not to stick to routine or familiar ways. There is no wonder that the Psalmist has urged us to sing a new song unto the Lord, a glorious song, a wonderful song that proclaims His goodness to us and to all people. There is no surprise that we are exhorted to worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness, for even the trees in the forest rejoice and clap their hands together, because the Lord is coming to judge the world in His righteousness and to deliver His people to eternal life. Let us join together and sing a new song of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord, and let us sing of the wonderful salvation that He has accomplished for us. Let us announce to the world the wonders of His name, for the work that our Lord Jesus has accomplished is worthy of great praise.
Psalms 95:6
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
Psalms 99:5
Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
Psalms 138:2
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Psalm 21:13
Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
