Bebe's interpretation
How do you view God in your life? Is He a Father or a friend? Is He the almighty Creator of the universe? Or is He just someone you turn to in times of need?
The Bible talks a lot about fearing God and having a healthy fear of the Lord. However, this can be misleading on the surface. Are we truly supposed to be afraid of God? Isn’t He a good God that we can call Father?
The truth is that we need a deeper understanding of what the Bible truly means by fearing God. We aren’t supposed to be afraid of Him in the way that we are afraid of evil people, spiders, or snakes. Instead, we are meant to have a fearful reverence for just how great and powerful He is so that our perspective is never compromised.
Although we can talk to God as a loving Father and He loves us all more than we could know, we also must remember how great and mighty He is, which helps keep us from taking advantage of Him. We must treat Him with respect and reverence. After all, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. He is great and powerful and we must never forget that.
