James 4:15
James 4:15
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
Do you ever feel like you are just going through the motions of life, trying to reach goals that you have intentionally or even unintentionally set for yourself? How does God play into that in your life specifically? It can be extremely easy to live the way that we would like to live without considering God. We make plans and we spend our time the way we want, but many of us rarely ask God what He would like us to do. In this verse, James is reminding us that even though we may make our own plans and go in a certain direction, we must always remember to submit our plans to God’s will. After all, if we truly want to follow God’s will in our lives, we must submit ourselves to it and follow it above our own plans. What steps can you take today to submit your life’s plans to the Lord? Take some time to pray to God about the goals that you have and the things that you are working towards. Submit your will to God’s will and listen for Him to guide you in all things.
1 Corinthians 1:28
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are.
2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Luke 22:26
But the one who is greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like one who serves.
