Many things can bring joy, but the fullness of joy comes when we receive in the name of Jesus. Jesus makes a most outstanding, mind-blowing statement here. He says that while we’re deprived of the fullness of joy, we may receive it by simply asking for anything in His name. His will is that we receive what we ask for from the Father. It’s already been agreed upon. All you need to do now is ask and you will receive.
You may have prayed for some things that haven’t manifested yet. Keep praying. Keep asking. When the Master makes a promise, it doesn’t fall to the ground. He said in Matthew 7:7, "ask and it will be given." He is not a man who would lie and He will not change His mind.
So, why have you asked and not yet received? For two possible reasons the Bible shows us. The first being that your requests may not align with the will of God (1 John 5:14). If you’re confident you have aligned your requests to the will of God and yet don’t see the answers you’ve been praying for, then you have to be patient. Yes, waiting is part of faith. While Abraham received the spoken promise, he had to wait twenty-five long years for it to manifest in the form of Isaac.
You may not have to wait twenty-five years to have your answers but you must trust God and focus on Him with all your heart no matter how long the ride. Let Him answer you at the right time so that your joy may be full.
