Joshua 1:11
Joshua 1:11
Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.
As Joshua assumed leadership of the Israelites, he received a word from the Lord, directing him to lead the people into the land that He had promised to their forefathers. God's instructions were clear: the Israelites were to cross the Jordan River, take possession of the land, and drive out the inhabitants of the land. In response to God's command, Joshua gave orders to the officers of the people, preparing them for the task that lay ahead. As Joshua was confronted with the challenge of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, we too are faced with a similar dilemma - the battle for our faith in God. Each day, we must fight to maintain our trust in His Word and to believe that His promises are fulfilled in Christ. We must fully accept that the battle is not ours but the Lord's, and that our victory has already been secured through Christ. Christians are not only saved by faith but are also called to live by faith in the Son of God. We are to base our decisions and actions not on our feelings, intuition, or any other human reasoning, but on our trust in the Lord. May we walk in the Spirit and in truth, continually surrendering our own understanding and submitting to His guidance.
