Bebe's interpretation
A lot of people have come to love this world and take pleasure in the things of this world. They live their lives oblivious of death or eternity. Their love for the world has blinded them to the reality of another life after death. They live in ignorance that they are temporary residents of the Earth sent here for a purpose. They live just for the present and are not concerned about what the future holds. They seem not to be aware that this world is temporary and therefore all their desires are also transient and fleeting. Because their hope is in this world, they are indifferent to the message of salvation.
Anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus and is saved has eternal life (John 3:16). This eternal life – the life of God - is experienced by the believer here on earth and guarantees him life after the passing of this world. The saved believer being a part of God's family has a natural inclination to do God's will out of love for and fear of Him. Obeying God's commands and doing good works without being saved does not guarantee that one will abide with Him forever. Having observed all the things in the world and realizing they are all vanity, the Preacher concluded in Ecclesiastes 12:13 that everyone who wishes to live forever must fear God and keep his commandments.
