Romans 5:20
Romans 5:20
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
In this verse, the Apostle Paul highlights the grace of God and the overwhelming nature of His forgiveness. He emphasizes that where sin abounded, grace abounded much more. Despite the multitude of our transgressions, the love of God is greater still. This truth is a source of comfort and hope for all who trust in Christ. Without the Law, Paul would not have been aware that covetousness was a sin. The Law serves as a standard given by God that allows us to measure ourselves against His perfect standard of holiness. Through the Law, we are able to identify our faults and failings, which in turn helps us recognize that we are sinners in need of a Savior. The Law's primary purpose is to lead us to Christ for Salvation, as we acknowledge that He paid the price for our sins through His death. As we come to recognize the depth of our sin, the grace of God and the forgiveness we receive by faith become more precious. The more we see our faults, the more God's unmerited favor is revealed to us. Let us give thanks and praise His holy name for His abundant grace and mercy.
2 Timothy 3:12
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Revelation 2:10
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried.
John 15:18
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
John 15:20
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you.
