1 John 4:15
1 John 4:15
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
When we gave our lives to Christ, we were saved by believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouths. We became adopted members of God's family, being justified and made righteous by the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. We come into communion with God by faith through the agency of prayer and word study. No one can know you better than the members of your family because of the closeness in the relationship. Our fellowship with God through the Holy Spirit makes it possible for us to confess that Jesus is the Son of God. As this verse confirms, a believer who abides in God is saved, enjoys fellowship with Him, and God dwells within him/her. The abiding presence of God lives with us through the Spirit upon our conversion. We remain in Him by obeying His commands and doing His will. We become like Him through constant fellowship, during which we exchange our old way of life for His eternal life. As we deepen and strengthen our relationship with Him, He reveals Himself to us, and we become effective witnesses of the fact that Jesus is indeed the Son of God.
James 5:13
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.
Matthew 6:13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
