1 Peter 2:3
1 Peter 2:3
If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
In this verse, Peter encourages believers to crave the pure spiritual milk of God's Word, just as a newborn infant desires its mother's milk. As a baby grows by feeding on its mother's milk, so too believers can grow spiritually by feeding on God's Word. This verse emphasizes the importance of constantly seeking nourishment from God's Word, which can lead to spiritual growth and maturity. In this chapter, Peter emphasizes the believer's position in Christ and the privileges that come with their new life in Him. He reminds us that through Christ, we have been born again to a living hope and have an inheritance that is reserved for us in heaven. While we will face trials and difficulties in this fallen world, Peter encourages us that these struggles are only temporary and our hope in Christ is eternal. As those who have tasted God's goodness and have a living hope in Christ Jesus, we are called to crave the nourishment of God's Word and guard against the temptations of the flesh. We are to flee from selfish pride and a sinful way of life, avoiding malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander. Such actions undermine our testimony as Christians and bring disrepute to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
John 15:16
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Galatians 5:5
For we through the Spirit eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.
Joshua 6:5
And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
Psalms 107:9
For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
