Titus 3:5
Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
When God wanted to save us, He didn’t organize a competition that would reward people with salvation. If anyone wants to boast about their efforts to earn salvation, the Bible clearly states that we were saved because of God's mercy. God’s mercy is His goodness and kindness toward us. It’s His character that makes Him look beyond our flaws in order to save us after all. It’s not because of any good things we did. Neither is it because of our loyalty to His agenda that we got rewarded with salvation. We were in darkness and chained to the dying populace on the expressway to hell and eternal damnation. But God was merciful to save us. He washed us by the power of the Holy Spirit. He gave us a new birth and a fresh beginning. Who could have loved us this much? What could have taken away the punishment we so much deserved and instead set us on a new course to life eternal in God’s presence? It's a new beginning for us both. We are called to do things differently and live differently. Therefore, having been reborn, we have entered into the reality of our destiny. We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ for good works (Ephesians 2:10). We are the light of the world, called to live righteously to glorify God (Matthew 5:14).
Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 5:24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
1 John 5:12
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
