Genesis 28:20
Genesis 28:20
And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
God is a loving parent who desires to give good things to His children. His promises to do what He says are replete in scripture giving us assurance and strengthening our faith. Our trust in His ability to deliver on what He has promised motivates us in our approach to Him in prayer. Knowing that God is not a man that would lie or go back on His word encourages us to hold on to Him even when there seems to be a delay in response to the request. Whether we bind God to His word by making a vow or not, we should know that God is always committed to us and meeting our needs. As long as we are doing His will and obeying His commands, there is a sure guarantee that He will perfect all that concerns us.
Proverbs 3:11

Romans 10:11
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Psalms 112:7
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
