Deuteronomy 32:1
Deuteronomy 32:1
Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
It is hard to capture people's attention, especially in a noisy environment where everyone wants to be noticed. Our daily routines can also make it challenging for us to be aware of what is happening around us. It is vital that we take a moment to pause, observe, and critically evaluate the way we lead our lives. It is easy to forget who we are and what we are called to do. We can become so preoccupied with seeking comfort, luxury, greater achievements, respect, and influence that we forget the weightier things in life and waste resources on things that do not matter. Today’s verse is a call to order, self-introspection, and examination. It was a call for the children of Israel to pay attention to the counsel of God through His servant. It was also a call for the elements of heaven and earth to bear witness to the delivery of God's Word to humanity. As children of God, His Word should be of great importance to us, and we should pay close attention to it. God desires the best for us, but our careful observation and prompt obedience guarantee the release of His blessings to us. Any deviation from His will incurs His wrath and judgment. Any deviation from His will incurs His wrath and judgment; therefore, it is wise to adhere to God’s commands if we want to experience His goodness.
