Bebe's interpretation
Have you ever wondered what it takes to be considered "perfect"? Is it something that we can attain on our own, or is it something that we must rely on God for? Hebrews 5:9-10 tell us that Jesus became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him and was declared by God to be a high priest in the order of Melchizedek.
What does it mean to obey Jesus? It means following His teachings and commands, living a life of faith, and seeking to serve and love others as He did. As we strive to obey Him, we are not only saved from our sins and given the gift of eternal life, but we also become more like Him in character.
Jesus, our high priest, is the ultimate example of perfect obedience. He lived a sinless life, even in the face of great temptation and suffering. And because of His obedience, He was able to offer Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, making a way for us to be reconciled to God.
As we seek to follow Jesus and obey His commands, we can be confident that we are on the path towards eternal salvation. And as we grow in obedience, we become more like Him, reflecting His love, grace, and character to the world around us.
