John 1:10
John 1:10
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Not only is Jesus the light, but He is also the one who created the whole universe. Although God was physically present on earth in the person of Jesus, this verse relates a sad situation: He was not recognized by the people of the world. It is not only that people reject the knowledge that comes from the light, but they also run from the One who brought it to them in the first place. All that He did and all that He said was witnessed by them. They witnessed many of His miracles, and they followed Him wherever He went. His followers were astonished by the gracious things He said and the incomparable things He did. Yet most of them rejected the Truth and crucified the Lord of Life. Those who are unbelievers should come to know Jesus as their Savior, trusting in His sacrificial death as their one and only substitute for sin. Those who believe in Him should know Him as the greatest Prophet of all time, the heavenly Priest, who is the only Mediator between God and man, and the glorious King of all kings. As disciples of the Lord, it is important that we do not merely follow Him from afar but instead develop a desire to know Him as our everlasting Life of Love and as the everlasting light of the universe.
Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Luke 13:24
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Hebrews 2:10
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
