Bebe's interpretation
After Jesus gained fame through his healing miracles and compelling teaching, some hostile religious leaders began to falsely claim that He was teaching a different law from what God had given to the nation of Israel. He states that his intent is not to discard the law or the prophets. The words of these prophets were not disregarded by Jesus; instead, they were fulfilled by His every action and word.
Throughout His life and death, Jesus met every single demand of the holy Law of God. He was born under the law, lived a sinless life under the law, and was crucified under the law. The purpose of Jesus' coming was not to abolish the Law, but to fulfill its righteous requirements. In this way, He became the only one who was capable of satisfying its perfect requirements, making Him qualified to become our sin-Substitute, our kinsman-Redeemer.
All who believe in Jesus are now free from the curse of the Law and under God's gift of grace. This is because Jesus willingly paid the enormous price of sin for you and for me. Upon becoming a born-again believer, we die in Christ and are rendered dead to the Law, eliminating the fearful curse of the Law and its eternal consequences for all eternity. It was His death that enabled us to live our lives through Him.
