Bebe's interpretation
David prays to the Lord for guidance in this verse. It is likely that David would have suffered destruction if he had relied solely on his own skill while his enemies were waiting to ambush him. However, he trusted the Lord to guide him along the correct path. It is important for Christians to follow David's example and acknowledge God as our guide throughout life, as we live in a hostile world to God and His followers.
It is unfortunate that there are many people today who are waiting to trip or trap those who place their trust in the Lord. Truth is often twisted. Various cruel traps are erected in order to cause harm to others. However, those who attempt to ensnare will become entangled in their own evil schemes. Contrary to this, a person who fully grasps Christ will not stumble. Instead, he or she will be guided along a straight path, avoiding all traps and snares set by the devil.
The Lord blesses those who have teachable spirits and a humble heart, confessing their shortcomings to Him. His joy is in the one who seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, with a gentle heart and a gentle nature.
