Psalms 27:13
Psalms 27:13
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
In this verse, we are reminded that human experience often bears witness to a difficult process of resonating what we know in our minds with our fears and emotions. Despite the uncertainty, faith is a trust in God based on what we know about Him. In his prayer for rescue, David opened his heart to God. Despite danger, David trusted the Lord and placed his trust in His victory over the enemy. Faith is the ability to believe in the reality of the promises of God. These promises cannot yet be perceived with our physical senses but can be discerned with the light of faith. It was this characteristic of David that delighted the Lord. The story of David demonstrates once again that he was a man after God's own heart. He expected God to provide all of his needs in accordance with His riches in glory. Like David, we also have great hope in the God of our salvation, and we will also be pleased by Him when we unreservedly rely on His Word. As David did, we can rely on God's promise to be kept, regardless of how bleak our circumstances may appear. As David did, we can anticipate a bright future as Jesus promises to take us home.
Psalms 95:7
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
Luke 1:33
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Romans 5:2
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Galatians 5:6
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
