Galatians 6:4
Galatians 6:4
But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
We all know how easy it is for us to get jealous of someone in our society today, especially when others around us are more fortunate or their social media looks more glamorous than ours. When we find ourselves getting jealous of others, it is important to remember what is most important in our lives. As Christians, we should only examine ourselves according to God's Word and Jesus' examples. We shouldn't compare ourselves to others since they are not our standards, and we will never find real joy in "winning" over them. While we may still sin and fail, we will be rewarded appropriately and made happy if we examine ourselves honestly and do not form excessive expectations of what we should receive. Every one of us was created by God uniquely, and God is shaping each of us for a unique purpose. You can do things no one else can. Therefore, instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on what God has called you to do. The source of our happiness is not others but the Lord our God. God is the ultimate judge, and He is the only one we need to impress!
