1 Chronicles 16:11
1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
The call to “add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance” outlines a path of spiritual growth and maturity. This verse reminds believers that faith is a foundation upon which we build qualities that reflect God’s character. Each step – from virtue to knowledge to temperance – represents a progression toward a life that honors God. This passage encourages believers to be diligent in developing these qualities, understanding that they lead to a balanced and strong faith. By adding temperance, or self-control, we gain mastery over our desires, aligning them with God’s will. This verse invites believers to pursue a life of purpose, where faith is strengthened by moral integrity and wisdom. It is a reminder that our relationship with God calls us to grow continually, becoming more like Christ. By embracing this path, we reflect the depth and dedication of our commitment to God.
