1 Corinthians 1:28
1 Corinthians 1:28
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are.
God’s power is displayed through the humility of those whom the world deems lowly or insignificant. This verse reminds us that God often chooses those who are despised and weak in the world’s eyes to accomplish His great purposes. Humility makes room for God’s strength to be revealed. The proud and powerful often rely on their own abilities, but the humble recognize their need for God’s power to carry out His will. Through humility, God brings to nothing the arrogance, prideful accomplishments of the world, showing that true strength comes from Him alone. This passage calls us to embrace God’s way of working through weakness, for in our humility, His power shines brightest. When we humble ourselves, we create space for God to move in ways that confound the wisdom of the world, making His glory known in unexpected ways.
Psalms 149:4
For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
James 3:9
With the tongue, we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.
Luke 22:26
But the one who is greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like one who serves.
Proverbs 16:19
Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
