1 Corinthians 11:24
1 Corinthians 11:24
This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.
Jesus' words, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me," call believers to an ongoing act of remembrance. The breaking of the bread symbolizes His body, given for us on the cross. This simple but profound act of communion is meant to be a continual reminder of His sacrifice. In saying "do this in remembrance of me," Jesus establishes the practice of communion as a central element of Christian worship and devotion. Every time believers partake of the bread and the cup, they are reminded of the cost of their redemption—the broken body of Christ and His blood shed for the forgiveness of sins. The act of remembering is not just a mental exercise but an invitation to reflect on the significance of Jesus' sacrifice and to renew our commitment to Him. This verse invites us to not only remember what Christ did but to live in the light of that sacrifice—recognizing that His body was broken for us and His blood was poured out for our forgiveness. In remembering Him, we are called to live in gratitude, love, and obedience.
1 Corinthians 11:26
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
John 6:32
And he said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
John 6:55
For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
John 6:53
Jesus answered, Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
