1 Corinthians 15:20
1 Corinthians 15:20
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.” Christ’s resurrection is the firstfruits, meaning it is the beginning of a much larger harvest. Just as the firstfruits in a harvest are the guarantee of more to come, so the resurrection of Jesus guarantees the resurrection of all believers. His rising from the dead is the promise that all who trust in Him will also be raised. His resurrection is not a one-time event but the beginning of a new reality, the reality of resurrection for all of God’s people. The resurrection of Jesus is a declaration that death has been defeated, and eternal life has been secured for all who are in Him. His victory over death is our victory, and His resurrection is the foundation of our hope.
Luke 24:5
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
Matthew 28:6
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
1 Corinthians 15:14
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Philippians 3:10
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
