1 Corinthians 3:16
1 Corinthians 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
The body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and defiling this temple is a grave offense. God has chosen to dwell within us, and our bodies are meant to reflect His holiness. Fornication, sin, and impurity defile God’s temple, and God promises to destroy those who dishonor it. Our bodies are not our own; they belong to God. We are called to honor Him with our bodies, living in purity and avoiding anything that would defile us. The temple of God is sacred, and treating it as anything less is dishonoring to God. This is why the call to purity is so important in the life of the believer. Every act of impurity or sin dishonors God’s dwelling place within us. As we live according to the Spirit, we learn to care for our bodies, treating them as sacred vessels that reflect the glory of God. This understanding shapes our behavior and attitudes, helping us to resist the temptations of sin and live lives that honor God.
Galatians 5:19
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,.
Ephesians 5:3
But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints.
1 Thessalonians 4:3
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication;
Exodus 20:14
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
