But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. This verse from 1 Corinthians 7:17 speaks to the idea that each person has been given a unique calling and purpose by God. Birthdays provide an opportunity to reflect on the journey we’ve walked and how we’ve responded to God’s call. Are we walking in obedience, or have we strayed from the path He has set for us? God’s calling is not generic; it is specific to each person, and He equips us to fulfill it. As we celebrate another year, let us commit to walking more faithfully in the direction He has called us, trusting that He will guide our steps and provide what we need to fulfill His purpose.
