1 John 3:15
1 John 3:15
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Hatred, even towards a brother, is a serious offense in the eyes of God. Jesus equates hatred with murder, showing us how destructive and contrary to His nature hatred is. Those who harbor hate in their hearts cannot experience the fullness of eternal life, because hate separates us from God’s love and peace. Forgiveness, on the other hand, opens the door to reconciliation and peace, allowing us to experience the transformative power of God’s grace. When we choose love over hate, we align ourselves with God’s will, allowing His peace to reign in our hearts. This peace, rooted in forgiveness, is what leads to true reconciliation and restoration. As we let go of hatred, we open ourselves up to experience the fullness of life that God offers.
Psalm 37:8
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
Psalm 37:1
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Psalms 6:10
Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
Romans 12:20
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
