1 John 3:2
1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of [the Lord], and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
The statement “we are God’s children now” highlights the present reality and future promise of our identity in Christ. This verse reminds believers that they are already part of God’s family, even as they await the full revelation of what that means. Being God’s children brings hope and assurance, as we are secure in our relationship with Him. This passage encourages believers to live with confidence, knowing that they are loved and valued by God. It invites us to embrace our identity as His children, understanding that this relationship defines our worth. By recognizing our status as God’s children, we find peace and purpose, knowing that our future is in His hands. This verse is a reminder that our worth is not based on earthly accomplishments but on the eternal love of God. Through faith, we are part of a family that transcends time, grounded in the hope of God’s promises.
