1 Peter 2:17
1 Peter 2:17
Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
Respecting others, loving the community of believers, revering God, and honoring authorities are foundational principles for a life that reflects God’s love. This verse provides a powerful reminder of our responsibility to honor those around us, whether they are our peers, our faith community, or our leaders. Loving the brotherhood calls us to foster unity within the body of Christ, to support and uplift one another in faith. Fearing God is about recognizing His majesty and authority over all, placing Him above all else in reverence and obedience. Honoring the king, or those in authority, teaches us to respect the structures that God has allowed, fostering peace and order. Embracing these principles builds a life marked by love, respect, and humility, creating a harmonious relationship with God and others. By honoring all, we reflect His grace and compassion, building a community where respect and love guide our actions.
Psalm 111:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments.
Proverbs 14:21
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
1 Peter 5:5
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Ephesians 5:22
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
