1 Peter 4:9
1 Peter 4:9
Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.
Hospitality is a central value in the Christian faith, and this verse emphasizes that it should be practiced without grumbling. Serving others in love and kindness should be our natural response, not out of obligation or resentment. The act of being hospitable reflects the heart of Christ, who welcomed all, showing grace and generosity. However, when we grumble about offering hospitality, we miss the opportunity to truly bless others and glorify God. This verse encourages us to serve one another with a joyful and willing heart, recognizing that it is an act of love, not a burden. The attitude with which we serve is just as important as the service itself. By practicing hospitality without grumbling, we demonstrate a heart that is in alignment with God’s will, showing His love and grace to those around us. The Bible teaches that when we serve others with joy, we are serving Christ Himself, and that is a privilege and a blessing.
Exodus 16:2
And the whole congregation of the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.
Exodus 17:3
But the people thirsted there for water, and the people grumbled against Moses.
1 Corinthians 10:10
Do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel.
Exodus 16:3
And the Israelites said to them, If only we had died by the Lord's hand in Egypt.
