1 Thessalonians 5:23
1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This verse speaks to the completeness of God’s sanctification, as He works in our spirit, soul, and body to make us whole. The sanctifying work of God is not just spiritual but affects every aspect of our being. This is a promise that, through God’s grace, we will be preserved blameless until the coming of Christ. His peace sanctifies us, providing wholeness and stability as we await His return. This work of sanctification is ongoing, shaping us into the image of Christ, and it is through God’s peace that we find the strength to endure. Worship in this context becomes an act of surrender, where we invite God’s sanctifying work into every area of our lives, trusting that He is at work to make us perfect and blameless. As we seek His peace and allow His sanctification to work in us, we are assured that God will preserve us until the day of Christ.
