1 Timothy 6:12
1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life.
In this verse, the “good fight of faith” is described as a battle for eternal life. To fight the good fight means to persevere in our faith, even in the face of challenges and opposition. It requires courage, determination, and trust in God’s promises. The fight is not about physical struggle but about remaining steadfast in belief, resisting the temptations of this world, and holding firmly to the truth of the gospel. The reward for this faithful perseverance is eternal life. We are reminded that our efforts in this life are not in vain, for they have eternal significance. By fighting the good fight, we are laying hold of the promise of eternal life, the reward of those who endure in faith. This verse encourages us to keep pressing forward, regardless of the difficulties we face, with the hope that the struggles of this life are nothing compared to the glory of eternal life with God.
