2 Timothy 1:9
2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began;
Who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This verse emphasizes that our salvation and calling to live a holy life are not based on our own merit but on God’s grace and purpose. Birthdays are an excellent time to reflect on God’s work in our lives—how He has called us, transformed us, and set us apart for His purposes. We are not saved because of our deeds or good works, but because of God's love and grace. As we celebrate another year, we can express gratitude for God’s unmerited favor in our lives. He has called us to live with purpose and holiness, and He equips us to fulfill His plans for us. This verse challenges us to live with intention, embracing the life of holiness that God has called us to. It also reminds us that our worth and value are not tied to our accomplishments but to God’s grace, which is more than sufficient to cover all our needs.
