Acts 13:47
Acts 13:47
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
God’s command to be “a light of the Gentiles” reflects His desire for His followers to spread His message beyond cultural and geographical boundaries. This verse underscores the mission of evangelism and the responsibility to share the gospel with those who may not know Him. Being a light means embodying the values of God’s kingdom—compassion, justice, and truth—so that others can see and be drawn to the message of salvation. This calling challenges believers to step out of their comfort zones, recognizing that the gospel is for all people, regardless of background. It emphasizes obedience to God’s purpose, encouraging believers to live in a way that reflects His love and holiness. By shining God’s light, we participate in His redemptive work, helping others to encounter His grace. This verse is a reminder that our faith is not just for personal growth but for the mission of bringing God’s truth to a world in need. It calls us to be purposeful in our witness, serving as instruments of God’s love.
