Colossians 3:21
Colossians 3:21
Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
Fathers are called to discipline their children in a way that encourages growth, not discouragement. Ephesians teaches that fathers should not provoke their children to anger, as this can lead to feelings of discouragement. Discipline, when done correctly, is an act of love. It is meant to teach children right from wrong, helping them understand the consequences of their actions. However, when discipline is harsh or inconsistent, it can cause bitterness and resentment. Fathers are called to be patient, nurturing, and understanding, recognizing that discipline should always be done with love. The goal is not to break a child’s spirit but to guide them toward becoming responsible, respectful, and godly individuals. Fathers who exhibit patience and understanding in their discipline create an environment where children feel safe, loved, and valued. It is through this kind of nurturing discipline that children can learn to make wise choices and grow in faith, hope, and love.
