Ephesians 1:13
Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
Trusting in God begins with hearing the truth of His word—the gospel that speaks of salvation, redemption, and eternal life. This verse reflects the transformative power of the gospel and the deep trust it engenders. Hearing the word of truth is not merely an intellectual exercise; it is a life-changing encounter that calls us to respond with faith and trust. As we hear and believe in the gospel of salvation, our hearts are opened to trust in God more fully. This trust in God is deeply intertwined with the work of the Holy Spirit, who seals us with the promise of salvation and empowers us to walk in faith. The gospel is not just about an initial act of belief but about a continuous, daily trust in God’s saving power. The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in sustaining this trust, reminding us of the truth of God's promises and leading us deeper into a relationship with Him. Trusting in God means trusting in the truth of the gospel—the assurance that God’s plan of salvation is sure and that His promises will never fail. This trust transforms our lives, giving us the hope and security that we are God's chosen people, destined for eternal life.
