Exodus 22:22
Exodus 22:22
You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child.
The Lord is a sustainer of the fatherless and the widow, standing as their protector and defender while frustrating the plans of the wicked. This verse reveals God’s active role in caring for those who are without family support, affirming that He is personally invested in their well-being. Widows and orphans, often vulnerable to injustice, find their ultimate protector in God, who upholds their cause and watches over them. By frustrating the ways of the wicked, God ensures that their schemes against the defenseless are thwarted. This verse calls us to align ourselves with God’s heart, being advocates and supporters for those in need. Let us be inspired to reflect God’s sustaining love by standing up for widows and orphans, providing for them, and protecting them from harm. May we be vigilant against any form of injustice toward the vulnerable, knowing that God Himself champions their cause. In doing so, we become instruments of His justice and mercy, bringing hope and care to those who need it most.
1 Timothy 5:16

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction.
Deuteronomy 10:18
Sheweth kindness unto the stranger, unto the fatherless, and unto the widow, in love.
Jeremiah 49:11
Leave your fatherless children; I will keep them alive; and let your widows trust in me.
