Galatians 1:4
Galatians 1:4
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world.
In this verse, we are reminded of the reason Christ gave Himself for our sins: to deliver us from the present evil world. His sacrifice was necessary to rescue us from the power of sin and the consequences of a fallen world. The act of Christ giving Himself is a testament to His love and obedience to the Father’s will. His selfless act provides forgiveness and deliverance for all who believe in Him. The phrase "present evil world" highlights the fallen state of humanity, and Christ's death on the cross becomes the remedy for the brokenness of this world. Through His sacrifice, we are freed from the dominion of sin and are offered the gift of salvation. This deliverance is a call to live in freedom, walking in the righteousness Christ has made possible. The cross is the bridge that delivers us from death to life.
Luke 23:33
And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him.
1 John 3:16
By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us.
Ephesians 2:14
For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility.
Philippians 2:8
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
