Isaiah 33:22
Isaiah 33:22
For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.
God is not only our judge but also our lawgiver and our king. This verse encapsulates God's sovereign role over His creation. He sets the standard for righteousness, and His judgment is founded on His perfect law. In His judgment, there is both justice and mercy. For believers, God's judgment is a source of comfort, for He is the one who saves us. He has provided a way of salvation through Jesus Christ. This passage emphasizes that God’s sovereignty extends over every aspect of our lives, and He alone has the authority to judge. His law is not arbitrary but is rooted in His perfect character, and He will save those who trust in Him. Living under God’s rule is an invitation to submit to His authority, knowing that His judgment is righteous and merciful.
